Today was busy but low key. There were a lot of patients, but also a bunch of new faces for me. One man was there when I showed up, he is a regular and is super funny! It's nice to get there and have someone put a smile on my face. We talked a lot today about how peoples' mentalities are different. Depending on the injury a lot of people are really willing and WANT to get better, so they work really hard. Others just slack off and use their PT time as a joke, or relaxation. It is easy to tell the difference between a hard worker and a slacker. I have found it interesting to see people of different ages with the same injuries and how they are recovering at different times. A young kid with a knee injury will recover and gain back motion a lot more quickly than an older person with a knee replacement, not to hard to figure out but still interesting. I am actually getting sad to see my time at PT slowly wind down but it has been great to be in there a learn more and more everyday.
It is sad it is coming to an end. You'll have to think about how to thank Diane!
